I. "Christian" Mystics with the Church Today (Col. 2:18)

   A. Take pride in the superiority of knowledge (v. 18)

   B. They entertain angelic beings. (v. 18)

   C. Intruding into the spirit world. (v. 18)

    1. Entertaining such divine personage ("Jesus")

    2. Visitation into the "third" heavens

  D. They claim to have seen something; they ain't seen nothing.

II. God's Elect: Chosen by God (Jn. 6:37, 44)

   A. God's foreknowledge and predestination of the saved (Eph. 1:3-11)

   B. God has chosen "certain" individuals unto salvation (Jn. 10:2, 4)

   C. The sovereignty of God, predestination, and election.

III. The Marks of Professing Believers (Matt. 7:15ff)

   A. They are wolves in sheep's clothing. (v. 15)

   B. They claim to do the works of God.

   C. They make such outward profession of faith; they are phony individuals.

IV. Hearing God's Voice: What Does it Mean? (Jn. 18:37; 1 Jn. 4:6)

   A. The elect of God hearing the truth of God's Word (Jn. 10:4)

   B. The "truly" elect who are on the side of truth.

   C. Those who listen to the truth are those who belong to God (1 Jn. 4:6)

V.  Saved How? (Eph. 2:5, 8; Titus 3:5)

  A. We are saved by the grace of God (Eph. 2:5)

  B. We are saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ (v. 8)

  C. We are renewed by the regenerating power and work of the Holy Spirit (Jn. 3:5)

X. Apostates Unconvinced by the Truth (1 Tim. 4:1)

 1. They are defectors of the true faith (v. 1a)

 2. They pay attention to deceiving spirits (v. 1b)

 3. They teach doctrines taught by demons (v. 1c)
