The Meaning of the Inspiration of Scripture

There has to be biblical proof concerning the inspiration of the scripture!  There are numerous passages of the Bible that will affirm the inspiration of the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16). The apostle Paul says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God..." Scripture is breathed out by God by which clearly reveals that the Bible is divinely inspired by God. God is the Author of scripture. As the Author of the Bible that it is impossible for God's Word to be in error. Why? Because the character of God is Divine Truth (Jn. 14:26). The Holy Spirit who is God does not contradict the truth of scripture. Those who claim that the Bible is not God's inspired Word are what the Holy Spirit does not bear witness to. The Holy Spirit is that of Divine Truth by which He leads believers into all truth.

When it comes to the meaning of the inspiration of scripture is that many of the biblical authors of the Bible were under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. (2 Pet. 1:21) They were holy men of God who were carried along by the Holy Spirit. What they wrote was in fact the very Word of God. There are those who will also claim that their writings are "inspired" by God by which the Spirit does not bear witness to the truth of such fraudulent writings. It is important to know that whenever such spurious writings appear on the theological marketplace is that of doctrine taught by demons. Such men who claim such divine inspiration pay attention to deceiving spirits by which they teach doctrines taught by demons. (1 Tim. 4:1)

The intended purpose of God concerning the biblical authors of the Bible is that He did not take away their style and vocabulary. Many of the biblical authors of the Bible came from different cultures, education, and occupation but nonetheless demonstrate their own style and vocabulary but was under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21). Also, the biblical authors of the Bible express that their feelings (Rom. 10:1).  The apostle Paul's heart-felt desire for Israel to be saved. The need for Israel's salvation: "they had a zeal for God but not according to knowledge. They went about establishing their own righteousness by which they did not have God's own righteousness." (Rom. 10:2-3)

The biblical authors of the Bible were not stenographers nor did God "dictate" to them. In so many words they were not like a court reporter that type verbatim everything that is said in the courtroom. Even though the biblical writers wrote what God intended for them to write they were under the Spirit's guidance and inspiration. Neither can White supremacy, black liberation theology, or even the woke church movement can claim such guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Scripture is not something that is revealed in the corner by which many "Christian" mystics claim to know the deep mysteries of God (Deut. 29:29).

There are numerous biblical authors of the Bible that were in fact under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21). Such men like Jeremiah, Ezekiel, David, and the NT apostles are proof positive of being carried along by the Holy Spirit. (Je. 36:2; Ezek. 1:3; Ac. 1:16; 2 Pet. 1:21) They were "holy" men of God who wrote what God intended for them to write. The OT prophet spoke what "thus says the Lord. (Jer. 1:1)  The message which they gave to the people of Israel was revelatory in nature by which they were under the Spirit's guidance and inspiration. Also, the OT prophet's message was consistent with their calling.  They did not speak what God did not bear witness to.  There are false prophets in the OT that claim to speak for God but prove to "misrepresent" the oracles of God (Deut. 13:1ff).

In summary, the meaning of the inspiration of scripture is that God breathed out every word of scripture. (2 Tim. 3:16a)  What the church possesses is that of God's written Word by which God is the Author of the Bible. In demonstrating the proof of the inspiration of scripture is the character of God (Jn. 14:26). The character of the Holy Spirit is Divine Truth by which it is an undeniable fact that God's Word is the inspired, infallible, inerrant written Word of God. The character of the written Word of God is that it is true, pure, reliable, and trustworthy.
