1. The History of the Word of Faith movement: New Thought metaphysics, Christian Science, and Unity School of Christianity (1 Tim. 6:20; Col. 2:18)


2.  Understanding of God: God is a "faith" Being; not a Sovereign Creator (Rom. 1:21-23)


3. Understanding of Jesus: Jesus is a product of God's spoken word of faith (Heb. 11:3)


4. Understanding of the Bible: Personal revelations, "special" revelations, personal prophecies (2 Pet. 1:19-21; Col. 2:18-19)


5. Understanding of the Fall of Man: Adam lost his divinity in the Garden of Eden (contrast Gen. 3:1-7 with Romans 5:12)


6. Understanding of the Atonement: The Born-Again Jesus who died spiritually and physically (2 Corinthians 5:21; 2 Pet. 2:1; Jude 4)


7. Understanding of Faith: The force of Faith spoken by words. It's a container. God is an impersonal force by which the "Faith" Christian can manipulate through such spiritual laws (i.s. divine health and wealth) (Gen. 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20; Mark 11:22-23)


8. The Believer's Authority: As little "gods" Faith being with the power to create one's own reality (Mark 11:22-23)


9. Understanding of Salvation: The incentive to give in return to "releasing" one's desires through manipulating the God of the Bible (2 Pet. 2:2-3)


10. Context, Context, Context: Twisting of the scriptures to fit within the construct of Word o Faith teaching and principle (2 Pet. 3:16).

What is New Thought Metaphysics?

There is a necessity to define what is New Thought metaphysics!  It is also important to know how "New Thought" metaphysics is associated with contemporary African American "Word of Faith" religion in light of New Thought historical background (1 Tim. 6:20).  There are millions of people today especially within that of the church who are unaware of the influence of New Thought within the corridors of many evangelical churches and its own leadership today (2 Tim. 2:17, 18). I find it quite disheartened and appalling that people today are not interested in sound biblical doctrine but are so preoccupied with fads and trends of today.  Trends only appears for a moment but then there are other trends that substitute many of the culture trends of today (Col. 2:4, 6, 8).  The influence of New Thought has in fact greatly influence that of the Church today by which it is a cosmetic Christianity that does not reflect that of true biblical C...
