God's Elect Knowing God's Voice
It is important we get a understanding of this particular subject matter, "God's Elect Knowing God's Voice." The reason for this is that there are spiritual detractors on the social media whose attempt is to distort that of this particular theme so as to put it within their own cultural context. They also write books, appear on Christian television, and hold "Faith" convention across the United States and around the world. Many of these self-professing Christian leaders appeal to their viewing audience, that of their churches and ministries that they are an authority on the Bible, but, ignorant of what the Bible teach concerning any given subject matter and the whole of the biblical context of scripture (2 Pet. 3:16, 17). The apostle Peter calls such men as "ignorant and unstable" as they do also the other scriptures unto their own destruction." Whenever their is such a distortion of biblical truth then it can adversely impact the spiritual lives of God's people by which billions of people across this globe faith has become spiritually shipwrecked (2 Tim. 2:17-18). Such apostate individuals who are in position of leadership and power by which they influence the lives of people are in fact without the life of Christ, dead in their sins and trespasses, spiritually blind, ignorance of the truth whereby they are without hope in Christ. How is it possible for "unregenerate" men to lead others within the church when they are blind leaders of the blind (Matt. 23). The result and outcome of apostasy is that it leads to a dead end by which the inevitability of God's judgment is sure (Jude 8-10).
Throughout this article I will begin to address this subject matter, "God's Elect Knowing God's Voice." In looking at John 10:4 where our Lord says, "When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice." In order to understand any given passage of the Bible is to compare scripture with scripture (1 Cor. 2:13, 14). Even though the Holy Spirit gives believers the understanding of what God's Word says, but, it is our responsibility to study God's Word (2 Tim. 2:15). Whenever there is such shallowness of faith, ignorance, and carelessness is a result of not accurately handling the word of truth. Well lets begin by asking a few important questions as it relates to the subject matter, God's Elect Knowing God's Voice." Who are God's elect? What are ways by which the truly saved can know the truth of God's Word? What does it mean for the "truly" elect to know God's voice? Well, throughout this article I will begin to address once again this particular subject matter in light of God's Word (2 Tim. 3:15, 16).
First, God's elect are those who have been chosen by God's election of grace unto salvation in Christ (Jn. 6:37, 44). In John 6:38 even Jesus Christ says, "All those the Father gives me will come to me, and who comes to me I will never drive away." But, also our Lord says in John 6:44 where He says, "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day." These are two important passages of scripture that talks about the Sovereignty of God concerning the salvation of believers. Those who are "truly" saved are chosen by God unto His election of grace whereby it is impossible for the unsaved to come to Christ on their own because of the bondage of their human will. The unsaved are in their sins and wrongdoings by which they walk according to the course of the air the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience (Eph. 2:1; Jn. 8:44). Before we got saved we were in a state of hopelessness by which it took that of God's divine Sovereignty to save many of us by His election of grace. Salvation is God's Free gift by which we cannot not earn salvation nor based upon our willingness to come to Christ. "The Father elects, the Son save, and the Holy Spirit regenerates." Once again when it comes to God's elect are those who have been chosen by God's election of grace so as to come to faith in Jesus Christ; not those who claim to be be "saved," but, who are professing believers (Matt. 7:15-23).
Second, the way by which the truly saved can know the truth of God's Word is to be rooted and grounded in scripture (Col. 1:9-10). The fount of the wisdom and knowledge of God is in the Person of Jesus Christ. In so many words our wisdom and knowledge is based upon God's Word in knowing the Person of Jesus Christ. In order to Who God is, it is revealed in the Bible. In order to know who Jesus Christ is, it is through our eternal Father. Jesus Christ is the express image of Who God is simply because of the fact Jesus Christ is God revealed in human flesh (Jn. 1:14). Jesus is eternally preexistence by which He is the Creator of the universe (Jn. 8:58; Col. 1:15-17). All true wisdom and knowledge of God is embedded in scripture; not what is the unsearchable depth of the wisdom and knowledge of the eternal Father who is in heaven.
The apostle Peter declares according to 2 Peter 3:18 by saying to "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." In order for the truly elect to grow in grace is to properly understand that their relationship with God is solely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ without any human works nor merits (Eph. 2:8-9). In so many words it is not salvation plus works, but, it is salvation minus works. Our knowledge of Jesus Christ is to know the Person and work of Christ which are embedded within scripture; not some "mystical" union with the All-Encompassing Spirit (Col. 2:18, 19). Whenever the Church lose sight of the true wisdom and knowledge of God in Christ is that it hinders their growth in Christ so as to live lives displeasing unto the Lord.
Lastly, what does it mean for the "truly" elect or saved to know God's voice? This is where the rubber meets the road. It is both a tricky, but, risky business. And, the reason for this is that there are spiritual "detractors" within the professing church today who have utilize such biblical language so as to pervert, "redefine," and confuse the hearts and minds of God's people (2 Cor. 4:1-4; 11:3; Eph. 4:14). How have many professing Christian teachers pervert, redefine, the biblical language of the Bible by which it boggle the minds of the "inexperienced," native of believers?
The way by which false teachers lure people into a web of deceptive is to utilize such biblical terminology that will be more acceptable to the evangelical masses of people. Let's take for example the biblical concept of Faith. Most evangelicals who hear a message or a series of messages on, "What is Faith?" immediately they will assume that what they are saying about what faith is therefore in agreement with what the bible teach about Faith. But, at minute 16 of a Faith telecast the speaker will begin to explain what faith is: "Faith is a tangible, electrical force by which you can utilize through the power of words to create your world." Does the Bible teach such "metaphysical" concept of faith? The answer is, "No." If in fact faith is some tangible electrical force by which the "Faith" Christian can utilize the power of words through his or her faith then "faith" become the objective of the believer's faith. Many Faith teachers will also use as a biblical proof-text in Hebrews 11:3 as if God had to utilize His force of faith to create the world. There is no where in this particular passage (Hebrews 11:3) that warranted such interpretation (2 Pet. 3:16). The believer's faith must be directed towards God; not Faith. So, faith is a living channel of trust in God as the Objective of the church's faith. When it comes to the doctrine salvation is that believer's must trust Christ for their salvation (Eph. 2:8).
It is true that many false teachers pervert many of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith so as to fit within cultural worldview (Col. 2:8). Such biblical perversion creates a semantic web of deception by which it confuse the minds and hearts of its victims (1 Cor. 11:3; Eph. 4:14). Once people are hooked this ongoing of perverted theology is that it will be difficult for them to break that of its spiritual chains. They are "addicted" to the perverted terminology (e.g. "Faith") so as to be held captive by its propaganda.
How is it that the biblical language of the Bible can be "redefined" by those who claim to be God's spokesperson? Their are emissaries of Satan that are skilled at the redefinition of biblical terminologies so as to make it applicable to their own perverted theology. Let's also take for example the biblical language of the Bible of being "born again." (Jn. 3:3) Many neo-evangelicals would define such biblical language as "reborn." They will attempt to further examine that of its meaning by saying, "to be "reborn" is that of happiness by which a person experience a new lease on life. Therefore, the understanding of being "born again" is to be born from above by which our salvation is spiritually, but, heavenly. The saved person is renewed by the Holy Spirit so as to be "born again" or regenerated (Tit. 3:5): "Not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit." The Holy Spirit brings about a change within the unsaved person heart so as to have a heart of flesh; not a heart of stone.
Also, how are people confused when it comes to a misunderstanding of such biblical languages in the Bible? First, people are doubtful as to whether the Bible is true. Whenever people begin to questioned the truthfulness of God's Word than they are doubtful, but at worst unbelief. Also, professing believers are very much skeptical of beliefs and those who make such truth claim when it comes to the absolute truth of God's Word. Therefore, also, there is a ongoing confusion that grips the minds and hearts of those who once trusted, but, are distrustful of whether there is any future hope in glory so as to spend eternity in heaven. All of this stems from professing Christian teachers within contemporary evangelicalism who have over the years distorted the truth of God's Word (2 Cor. 4:1-2; 3-4).
Those who are God's elect are the recipient of knowing the truth of God's Word by which it is based upon what is the "fixation" of absolute divine truth (2 Tim. 3:15, 16). There is a misunderstanding of hearing God's voice as to such inward voice within a person's human spirit, but, it is opposite of the objective truth of God's Word (Jn. 8:46). If in fact hearing God's voice is what are "inward;" but not what is outward as to the objectivity of the truth of scripture than there would be no need to have the written Word of God. When it comes to the absolute truth of God's Word it is the standard by which the Church is to truth claim, personal prophecies, or spiritual revelation (2 Tim. 3:16, 2 Pet. 1:19-21). But, when it comes to such "inward" voice of the spirit or hear God's still small voice is the subjectivity of what is truth: that of postmodernism, pragmatism, and mysticism. In so many words the emotional urges of many professing believers who sense that of the presence of God within their spirit as if they have such esoteric intuitive knowledge so as to gain such spiritual insight (Col. 2:18, 19). The fount of the knowledge and wisdom of God in Christ is grounded in scripture (Col. 1:9, 10). The "fleshly" knowledge and wisdom of Gnostics in the professing church today are antithetical to the whole of the Christian faith (1 Tim. 6:3-5, 6).
We live in a culture where many professing believers reject that of the truth of God's Word in favor of the subjectivity of the so-called hearing God's still "small" voice within a person's human spirit. Such false teaching has in fact destroyed the faith and life of the Church today (2 Tim. 2:17-18).
