Steps to Learning How To Read Properly God's Word

It is so important that believers know how to read properly God's Word. Unfortunately there are many leaders within the church today do not know how to read God's Word properly so as to rush in their reading of scripture. There are many within the Charismatic and Pentecostal circles who think that the louder they shout, that quoting the scripture, and to give a "twist" or spin on what the truth is by finding themselves sinking deeper into a "spiritual" quicksand. Sanctimoniousness along with scripture quoting does not make people students of the Bible but to reveal that of their ignorance of the truth of God's Word. The Bible admonish us as believers by saying, "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15). To study God's Word requires that believer's think. And the hard work of God's Word that we think biblically. The contemporary church toda...

The Prophetic Word Made Sure (Part 1)

It is so important that we understand the truth of God's Word. It is quite unfortunate that many within the evangelical church today fail to come to grips with the basic understanding of what God's Word teach.  Paul in this letter to Timothy says, "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (2 Tim. 2:15). In order for believers to be student of the Bible is to correctly handles God's Word of truth by which the basis of biblical interpretation is to compare scripture with scripture (1 Cor. 2:13, 14). The way by which believers can handle the truth of God's Word is to seek the plain meaning of the context of scripture as to its immediate context, that of its preceding context, that of its wording of scripture. It takes hard work in studying God's Word (2 Tim. 2:15). It requires that of our total being so as to roll up our sleeves to do the daunting and diff...

Hearing God's Voice: What Does It Mean?

Why is it so important that we address this particular subject matter, "Hearing God's Voice: What Does It Mean?" Well apparently there are books that are in the Christian marketplace who claim to be an authority on "How" to Hear God's Voice, "Seven Steps to Hearing God's Voice," "Listening Prayer," especially the most popular of evangelical authors, "Conversation with God" that sold in the millions. Whenever I critique the materials of these books that have captivated many of its readers is that I have discovered the main theme of its message is that it is possible for them to actually hear God speak to them in an audible voice.  When it comes to the individual praying to God is that there is a two way conversation between the person and God Himself.  I find this quite surprising that the communication between God and the individual believer praying cannot expect God to speak back to them. In my experience praying to God a...

The "Faith" of the Prosperity Gospel?

How is it possible to mix "faith" with prosperity? It is impossible for a "system" to create a "system" that are very much "inconsistent" with that of its own data. The fact of the matter any system of data has to be consistent with the data that are congruent with that of the system itself. Let's take for an example in order for a computer to function properly is that the proper application or software have to be "consistent" with the computer's type. We cannot install Window 98 into a 2017 Microsoft Chrome computer because it requires Windows 10 for it to function properly.  When it comes to understanding the truth of God's Word everything has to fit properly in order to comprehend the whole of a given passage or biblical theme.  The best interpretation of the Bible is the Bible itself (1 Cor. 2:13).  Quite unfortunately those who claim to be God's messengers are guilty of making the Bible say what they want it to sa...

The Joy of Knowing God's Word

"The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and is now complete."    For the last several months I did a series of message on, "What Does It Mean to Hear God's Voice?" Under the subtitle I entitled it, "The Joy of Knowing God's Word" by which the passage under study is John 3:29 where it says, "The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and is now complete." Before I begin to do a expositional study of John chapter 3 verse 29 there are a few things that needs to be address concerning those who have written books on, "Hearing God's Voice" and that is (1) Ignoring that of the plain meaning of scripture. (2) The distortion of biblical "words...

Real Men Don't Reason?

The eyes are the window of a man's soul! The system of the prosperity gospel must be viewed through the "windows" of the wealth and health gospels that are to be interpret. Anything that is outside the boundaries of the "system" of the prosperity gospel is to be rejected at all cost. It will consider such outside influence: that of what its victims read, see, and hear.  Dr. Robert Lifton most provocative but challenging book, "Thought Reform: The Psychology of Totalism" gives 8 psychological components of thought reform techniques by which the prosperity gospel serves as a model in the "indoctrination" process of how many of its victims are narrow in their vision. It is very much important to know that unless people look outside the closed compartmentalization of the prosperity gospel rigid system of beliefs (i.e. "Mind over matter) than by all means many of its victims will not see this heretical gospel for what it truly is: that of h...

Why Is It So Important to Read Properly God's Word?

It is a necessity that we read properly God's Word!  In order to properly read the Bible is to take into account the whole of its biblical context: that of its wording, (syntax) that are written within its original language.  Even though the original language of the Bible are interpret within its original meaning but that the student of the Bible must seek to understand that of its language according to the standard definition.  Whenever the Church fail by ignoring that of the language of the Bible will miss the importance of its message (2 Tim. 2:15).    Let's take for example the classic text of John 10:4 where Jesus says, "When he has brought out his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice." The question?: Is it important that we look at the immediate passage at the exclusion of its surrounding context (John 10:1-3)? First, and foremost it is quite important that as the student of the Bible read that of the text...
