It is A Matter of the Heart!

People today do not look within their own heart! They believe that if they do the right thing or that God knows my heart then they are alright. There is a need for a person to look within their own heart by which to examine it based upon the Word of God. God's Word is like a mirror by which it reveal the ugliness and intent of the heart. (Jer. 17:9) It is impossible for a person to see themselves without looking within their own heart. It is so easy to point the finger at everybody else without first looking within their own heart. Our heart can so easily be led astray because of the sinfulness of our heart. The nature and character of the heart is that it is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. (Jer. 17:9) In order to examine our heart is to give a graphic analysis of the heart of sinful humanity. When Adam sinned we all died in Adam. That the core of our being was corrupted by sin. (Rom. 5:12) Because of the enormous impact of the sinfulness of humanity's sin that of our intellectual and emotional facilities are tainted and corrupted by our own human nature.

The Examination of the Heart

In order to understand the heart is to know what it is consist of and what it look like. (Jer. 17:9) First, the analysis of the heart is the non-essential of the physical heart. The literal meaning of the heart is not what is physical or tangible something the pumps blood through the heart. Also, the heart is not where the heart beat. So it is important to understand in context according to Jeremiah 17:9 what is the matter of the heart. Second, when it comes to the heart within the context of Jeremiah 17:9 that the heart refers to a person's total being: for example we must love the Lord our God with heart, mind, and soul. The heart is a person's soulish being. God examines the mind and the heart. He knows what is within a person and how they are thinking. But, at the core of a person's total being is that it has been corrupted and tainted by sin. It is totally corrupted. Even when unbelieving people attempt to do what is right is that it does not always honor God. Also, when people do things for each other that most of the time it is done out of selfish motive and intent. Therefore it dishonors God by which it remain corrupt. There is no need to disassociate that of a person's total being: that of the heart of an individual in connection with the soul and mind. The soul is consist of the mind, will, and emotions: that of the heart of a person's being. Within many Gnostic systems is that of its attempt to separate the mind of a person and the spirit of the individual. The mind of a person is it intellectual capacity to think in terms of what is reasonable and rational. Also, the soul of a individual is what makes a person think, their willingness to obey, and such heartfelt expression by which to express their feelings. In sum: that of a person's total being is corrupted by sin. (Ge. 3:1-7; Rom. 5:12)

When it comes to the heart is that of a person's sinfulness and reprobation. (v. 9) The heart of unbelieving is so malice that it springs forth wickedness and madness of heart. (Ecc. 9:3) A heart that is resentful is a heart full of murder. We have witness to the fact of reality that racism within the heart of a racist are so envious of those who they consider barbaric and less intelligent are prime targets of a person's murderous heart. It is not what goes within a person that defiles them but what proceeds from the sinful corrupt heart. (Mk. 7:21-22) It is similar to drinking from the water foundation and a person's mouth is full of gravel. Sin is not something that is bitter/sweet but bitter. The apostle Paul according to Romans 6:23 where it says, "For the wages of sin is death..." When it comes to sin's wages by which to accumulate just wages but the end thereof are both spiritual and physical death. The sinfulness and the reprobation of sinful humanity will cause people to act crazy. When it comes to sin it is rash by which it appears quite often. It eats at the soul of the person by which leads to such tragic death. There is nothing that a person can do in order to lift themselves from the bootstrap of their own sins. They are entrap by their own sin by sinning. Also, when it comes to the sinfulness and reprobation of sin is that of a person's stony heart. (Matt. 13:5) People who go through harsh things and experience bad experiences can in fact become harden within their own hearts. They look to people, places, and things that will normalize their own stony hearts by which it is superfluous. There is nothing to sustain them by which to become shallow in heart. Sensationalism, shallowness of faith, and emotionalism cannot sustain what people go through in life. In order to learn from the harsh reality of life is to learn from such an experience; not to deny it or run from it. God can change the "stony" heart of a person by which to give them a fleshly heart. The only way that a person can have a heart of flesh is to be changed by God. (Jn. 3:3; Tit. 3:5)

In closing I will challenge those who do not know the Lord is to look within your own heart knowing that they are sinners who is in need of God's saving grace. There is nothing that they can do to change what's within their own sinful heart but to allow God through the convicting work of the Holy Spirit to convict them of their wrongdoings. God is the Only One who can move upon a person's heart by which to save them. First, a person must acknowledge that they have sinned against a holy and Righteous God by which they are sinners. Believing that Jesus died for their sins and that the eternal God the Father raised His Son from the dead and they will be saved. It is within the heart a person believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Just simply pray this prayer: "Lord I acknowledge that I have sinned against You and realizing that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I ask that You forgive me of my sins. I ask that you come into my life by saving me. In Jesus name. Amen.
