The Need to Address Alternative and New Religious Movements

As we begin to study that of Acts chapter 2:3 where it says, "And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them." This is one of many passages that has been greatly misunderstood by the church today. In order to understand that of the immediate context of scripture is to read that of its wider context. In so many words reading as well as study previous, but, also preceding passages of the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15).  Once again as we study Acts chapter 2 verse 3 is to also seek to understand that of the plain meaning of this verse under study. Part 2 of a series of video entitled, "Full Gospel Baptist: A Work of the Flesh? Or A Work of the Spirit?" gives a brief history of this heretical sub-Christian movement in light of the Bible. What is so troubling about "The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International" is that of its "confusing" soteriology (salvation) and the work of the Holy Spirit.   This heretical movement must be seen what for it truly is. It is a works movement; not a grace movement. It is a work of the flesh; not a work of the Spirit (Gal. 3:1, 2-4).  It is a "admixture" of different religious traditions and the philosophical ideology known as neo-Gnosticism (Col. 2:8, 18, 19).  Rev. How is it that people can see different things the Bible? It is based upon a person's cultural bringing? Or is it a way to see things they are but yet seek to distort what people see? Most of the times when people begin to read the Bible they bring along with them such cultural baggage and bias by which they deny the authority of the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16). What is the meaning of the authority of the Bible? The authority of what the church ought to believe and how God's people are to live their lives according to God's Word (2 Tim. 3:15).  When it comes to the authority of the Bible as it relates to what the Church ought to believe is that people choose to believe differently then what the Bible teach (Rom. 16:17-18).
