Who Are Christ's Sheep?

As we begin to look at John 10:3 it is so important that we look carefully at this verse. Apparently there are those within the professing church today who distort the truth of God's Word to fit into the scheme of its own theology.  The outcome of such biblical distortion is the "unhealthy" spiritual welfare of God's people (2 Pet. 3:16, 17).  In order that God's people can grow in the grace and knowledge of God's Word is to be properly taught God's Word of truth.      According to John chapter 10 verse 3 it says, "To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out."  First, we must establish the fact within the context of John chapter 10 verse 3 it refers to Christ whom is the Shepherd by which the porter opens the gate for His sheep (v. 3a).  The problem with false spiritual leaders in the church today is that instead of leading God's people the way God wants them to lead them i

The Symposium of False Teaching in the Church Today

Many professing Christian leaders in the Church today have in fact changed their strategy so as to make what they teach are not easily detected.  For example the false doctrine of prosperity and Faith have been buried beneath the rubble of "The Grace Empowerment" and "Grace Revolution" as a "spiritual" front to promote the false teaching of prosperity (2 Cor. 4:1-2; 3-4).  Many within Faith televangelism attempt to teach on grace as if it has no strings attached to it but in order for the Faith believer to experience "true" prosperity is to follow the "formulas" of faith to live a prosperous robust lifestyle.  The false doctrine of prosperity teach in principle the doctrine of grace but in practice teach otherwise.  The doctrine of grace has nothing to do with "sowing" a seed into the televangelist's Swiss bank account nor does proof of one's spirituality is determine by the amount of things they possess materially.

The Need to Address False Teachers in the Church Today

In order to address false spiritual leaders in the church is to call it by name. The reason is that there are people in the church today who are wondering who are these individuals, what exactly do they teach that appears to be so controversial, am I apart of a church or ministry that teach such false doctrine.  In Paul's letter in Timothy, Titus, and many of his epistles that he mentioned the "names" of individuals within the early church that were so reckless in their teachings so as to lead many people astray so as to influence them morally (2 Pet. 2:2). But yet there are other times by which the apostle Paul did not mentioned the names of these individuals, yet nevertheless Paul made clear that of their false teachings as to be reckless (2 Tim. 2:17, 18).    Their is a need to address false teachings in the church because of its philosophical worldview that does not represent biblical truth (Col. 2:8; 2 Pet. 2:1). The subtlety of false teaching is that it appears

The Historical Event At The Day of Pentecost: The Then Or Now?

The Church today is made to believe that what happened at the day of Pentecost continues to take place today.  What transpired at the day of Pentecost was in fact actually took place, but to say that it remains to be a vibrant part of the Church today is not warranted in scripture (Acts 2:1-4).  It is true that many Charismatics and Pentecostal movement will utilize as a biblical proof text in regards to Hebrews 13:8 where it says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." Their contention is that what happen than can happen Now as to that of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit so as to the Church experiencing the empowerment of the Spirit as evidence of speaking in tongues. Yet once again in Hebrews 13:8 does not warranted it in scripture. In Hebrews 13:8 it actually teaches that God is unchangeable in Who He is.     It is unfortunate that many Charismatics and Pentecostal movements are ignorant when it comes to basic Bible interpretation, historical and

The Prosperity Gospel: Faith, Revelation, and The Bible

In order to address the prosperity gospel for what it truly is to give a clear definition of what it truly means. First, the overarching theme of the Prosperity message, "God's Will Is Prosperity" written by Kenneth & Gloria Copeland. Secondly, the defense of the prosperity gospel are that of 3 John 2, Matthew 6:33 and John 10:10 by which many of its proponents have in fact arbitrary misinterpret the plain meaning of the context of scripture to fit within the culture context of the prosperity-faith message (2 Pet. 3:16, 17).  In order to give a clear definition of the prosperity is that God wants to bless the Faith Christian in all areas of a person's life in one's own finances, health, spiritual, and business ventures. Therefore there is no where in the text of scripture (i.e. 3 John 2) that gives indication of any sort, but John letter to Gaius was that he wishes his recipient that everything will go well with him even as his soul is getting along well.  M

The History of the Prosperity Gospel: Metaphysical Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

The Americanized prosperity gospel is a "metaphysical" wolf in sheep's clothing (Matt. 7:15). The "language" by which the prosperity gospel utilize is its language of the Bible, that of mainstream biblical Christianity, and that of its own "distinctive" languages are diametrically opposed to the clear teachings of scripture (Rom. 16:17, 18).  The Late Dr. Walter Martin, cult apologist and founder of The Christian Research Institute now out of Charlotte, North Carolina once says in regards to the semantic language of many cults today, "In order to scale down the language barriers of cults is to insist that they define Christian biblical terminology as to the standard definition of the Bible." Dr. Martin continues to go on to say also, "The study of cults is a serious business. The student of the Bible must be familiar with Christian theology as to the "what" and "why" of believing the essential of the Christian faith

The Historical Event that Happened at the Day of Pentecost

Just recently my wife press upon my heart to deal with the whole idea concerning speaking in tongues according to Acts 2:4.  I agree to do a verse by verse expositional study of God's Word regarding this subject matter, but it was equally important to study Acts 2:1-11 so as to shed light upon this particular issue as it relates to speaking in tongues.  Even though my wife was a former member of a Bible-based sect known as The Church of God in Christ for 16 years she felt that it was necessary that we address on our Radio broadcast because of the confusing issue of speaking in tongues that surrounds many of professing believers and the Church at large especially within the context of many Charismatic and Pentecostal movements whose belief is in the "second" work of grace, or the "second" blessing as essential to the completeness of the believer's salvation (Gal. 1:8, 9; 3:1, 2-4).      Within many sects and cults there is an tendency to add works on the

The Source of Hearing God's Voice: God's Written Word

We live in a culture that are driven by what is experiential; not what is objective. For example: There are many professing Christians who prefer experience ("inward" voice) as oppose to the content of biblical truth. In so many words the Church today have in fact become so dissatisfied as to the biblical content of God's Word in favor of what is mystical ("voice of God") by which the intrusion of mysticism have sap the spiritual lifeblood of the church today as to its skeletal remains (2 Tim. 2:17, 18).      I am applaud as I have witness over the years "how" that the church today have travel the road of theological mysticism by which many believers have been led astray.  Whenever the Church explicitly deny the authority of the Bible ("rule of faith") so as to seek some "newer" revelation to validate its relationship with the God than is it walking on dangerous grounds.  If in fact scripture is not sufficient than there is no s

Introduction: Hearing God's Voice

There are books on the Christian marketplace who promote hearing God's voice. The consensus  is in favor of hearing God's voice within a person [human] spirit as opposed to what is revealed already within the written revelation of the Bible (2 Tim. 3:15, 16).  In order that a person can receive salvation is through personal faith in Jesus Christ; not what is experiential theology (Col. 2:18, 19).  The problem with Christian mystics in the professing church today is to claim that God has given them such personal revelation, prophecy, or prophetic utterance whereby such "revelation" of the spirit is their source of authority; not the objective truth of God's Word (2 Pet. 1:19-21).    Throughout this article I will begin to lay the foundation as to the content of the nature of the Bible as it relates to the authority and inspiration of scripture (2 Tim. 3:16).  Scripture is inspired by God by which the Holy Spirit (God) is the Author of scripture.  As a ministry

What Is The Holy Spirit?

There is such a misunderstanding of the Person and work of the Holy Spirit. When it comes to the Person of the Holy Spirit is that the Spirit of God is a Divine Person; not some impersonal "force" or "it" taught by many cults today.  In these times the Holy Spirit is ever mentioned nor it is taught within the Church today as if they have such a complete understanding of the Person of the Holy Spirit, but are teaching doctrines that are contrary to the clear teaching of scripture (1 Tim. 4:1).     The apostle Paul according to 1 Timothy 4:1 says, "The Spirit clearly says that in the latter times some will abandon the faith and following deceiving spirits and things taught by demons."  We are living in the last days where people today within the professing church will abandon the true faith so as to pay attention to deceiving spirits taught by demons." It is important that we as God's people begin to teach what is taught clearly in scripture: th
